Foley, DataTern Settle IP Malpractice Suit

Law360, New York (November 10, 2009, 1:26 PM EST) -- Foley & Lardner LLP has reached a settlement in a malpractice suit filed by former client DataTern Inc. alleging that the firm overcharged for legal services and failed to properly litigate a patent infringement case.

The parties filed a joint motion to stay the litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Monday, saying the matter has been “fully compromised and settled” and that they would file final settlement documents within 30 days.
