Entergy Cleared To Pay Bondholders' Attorneys' Fees

Law360, New York (November 10, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- After months of legal wrangling, bondholder representatives for bankrupt energy company Entergy New Orleans have won court approval to have Entergy foot the bill for their lawyers' fees.

Judge Jerry Brown ordered Entergy to pay law firm Heller Draper Hayden Patrick & Horn LLP a $1.2 million fee, plus $105,814 in expenses.

Entergy’s bondholders, represented by the Bank of New York, Financial Guaranty Insurance Co. and Deutsche Bank Securities, have long suggested that they had a right to insurance proceeds Entergy received after Hurricane Katrina....
