Infineon Sues University of Wisconsin Over Chip Patent

Law360, New York (April 22, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- German chip maker Infineon Technologies AG has filed a lawsuit against the University of Wisconsin seeking a declaration of noninfringement in a dispute over a patent for a process used in making semiconductors.

The Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, which licenses the university's patents, sought royalties at a meeting with Infineon in February, according to the suit filed Friday in federal court in San Diego.
