Motorola To Buy Video-On-Demand Co. BitBand

Law360, New York (November 16, 2009, 1:58 PM EST) -- Motorola Inc. said Monday it plans to buy BitBand, an Israel-based provider of video-on-demand technology for Internet-based television.

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the deal but said the transaction was expected to close during the fourth quarter.

BitBand, based in Netanya, Israel, provides Internet protocol television technology to more than 60 operators across the world, including TELE2 in Holland, Fastweb in Italy and Swyazinvest in Russia, Motorola said.
