Toyota Seeks Drawback Duties For Canada Car Parts

Law360, New York (November 16, 2009, 6:37 PM EST) -- Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc., the carmaker's U.S. sales and service arm, has asked the U.S. Court of International Trade to find that the federal government was wrong to deny it drawback duties on three years of car parts exported to Canada.

The company's motion for summary judgment, filed in the New York court on Monday, also asks the court to direct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to reliquidate the 42 entries that are the subject of Toyota's action, and to refund all eligible custom duties,...
