E.U. Green-Lights Trademark Disputed by Asterix Publisher

Law360 (October 22, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Union Court of First Instance (CFI), Europe’s highest appeals court, on Wednesday ruled that Italian electronic group Trucco can formally register "Starix" as an E.U.-wide trademark for its line of cameras and other devices, EuroPolitix reported.

French publisher Les Editions Albert René, which publishes the Asterix comic books, had claimed the name "Starix" was too similar to that of their comic-book character.
