Electronics Co. Settles Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (November 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A small Silicon Valley electronic measurement company will collect $13 million as part of its settlement of a trade secrets lawsuit against a number of competitors.

Sputtered Films has wrapped up its dispute with rivals Advanced Modular Sputtering, Agilent Technologies Inc., Avago Technologies Inc. and other defendants, according to Sputtered Films’ parent, Tegal Corp., on Monday.

The settlement further details the transfer of assets dealing with PVD technology from Advanced Modular Sputtering to Sputtered Films. The deal also calls for Advanced Modular Sputtering, or AMS, to...
