Noncompete Agreement Stands Up In Ore. Court

Law360, New York (November 19, 2009, 6:23 PM EST) -- A federal judge has issued a preliminary injunction barring a former employee of Epiq Class Action and Claims Solutions Inc. from competing with Epiq for its clients, finding that a noncompete agreement the employee signed with Epiq likely is valid.

Judge Michael Mosman of the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon issued the preliminary injunction Nov. 13, prohibiting James Prutsman from misappropriating Epiq's trade secrets and intentionally interfering with the economic relations between Epiq and its clients.
