3rd Circ. Lets Travelers Off Hook Over Garage Collapse

Law360, New York (November 20, 2009, 1:23 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed a grant of summary judgment to Travelers Property Casualty Co. of America and Gulf Underwriters Insurance Group, ruling the insurers are not required to defend or indemnify a Seattle-based architectural firm over a 2000 parking garage collapse.

Wednesday's ruling, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, affirmed a grant of summary judgment against plaintiff Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo Inc., which claimed it incurred about $2.3 million in defense costs that never were reimbursed.
