Intel Calls Foreign Conduct Irrelevant In Fight With AMD

Law360, New York (November 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Intel Corp. has fired off the latest salvo in the battle between the world’s top two chip makers, filing opposition papers in response to rival Advanced Micro Devices’ motion to compel the production of documents AMD insists show evidence of coercion aimed at AMD’s foreign customers.

Intel contends that AMD’s motion to compel, which was filed at the end of October, is merely a rehashed version of claims AMD made in its complaint, which were dismissed on September 26. Those claims sought recovery for lost sales...
