BNSF, Union Pacific Appeal Fees In Enviro Cleanup

Law360, New York (November 23, 2009, 1:24 PM EST) -- Two railroad companies mired in an environmental cleanup dispute stemming from a California state highway expansion have appealed a post-judgment order awarding nearly $1 million in attorneys' fees to the city of Stockton agency that is responsible for managing the contaminated property.

BNSF Railway Co. and Union Pacific Railroad Co. appealed the judgment of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on Nov. 20.
