US, Canada Commit To Increased Defense Cooperation
Law360 (February 23, 2021, 7:51 PM EST) -- President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau committed to broadening defense cooperation in North America and the Arctic during a Tuesday virtual meeting detailing their road map to build the U.S.-Canadian relationship.
The leaders' U.S.-Canada Partnership Roadmap included a commitment to spend at least 2% of each country's gross domestic product on defense by 2024, and to use the Five Eyes intelligence deal, a five-nation alliance dating back to the 1940s, to address global security challenges.
