Haynes And Boone Cuts Associate Pay For Dec.

Law360, New York (November 23, 2009, 6:41 PM EST) -- A partner at Haynes and Boone LLP confirmed Monday that the firm had cut first-year associates' starting salaries by about 10 percent for the month of December, and also responded to a public e-mail from one unhappy associate challenging the firm's commitment to staying competitive.

The international, 550-lawyer firm will offer associates slated to start Nov. 30 pay for their first month based on a $145,000 salary, but management has not made any decisions beyond that, Rick Fijolek, a financial partner with Haynes and Boone, told...
