Music Licenser Chucked From Yahoo, Microsoft Suit

Law360, New York (November 25, 2009, 2:52 PM EST) -- A federal judge has dismissed a plaintiff, license agent MCS Music America Inc., from a copyright infringement suit against Yahoo Inc., RealNetworks Inc. and Microsoft Corp. over their music download services.

In an order issued Tuesday, Judge Todd J. Campbell of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee said that MCS failed to state a legal claim for copyright infringement because it does not hold any of the music rights at issue in the suit.
