Conn. To Join Ohio In Suing Credit Rating Agencies

Law360, New York (November 25, 2009, 6:05 PM EST) -- Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal will join Ohio in suing credit rating agencies, he told Law360 Wednesday.

Citing issues with “negligent, reckless and incompetent” ratings, Blumenthal said he would file suit against rating agencies “early in the New Year, if not before.”

Ohio recently targeted leading credit agencies Standard & Poor’s Financial Services LLC, Moody’s Corp and Fitch Inc., filing a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio on Nov. 20.
