Fraud Claim Added To Farmers Insurance Action

Law360, New York (November 30, 2009, 1:27 PM EST) -- A federal judge has allowed the addition of fraud and unjust enrichment claims to a putative class action that accuses Farmers Insurance Co. of breaching its contract by using faulty cancellation notices to deny insurance coverage to consumers.

Judge Terrence Kern of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma issued the order Nov. 24, also refusing to dismiss one of the defendants, Farmers Insurance Exchange, from the case.
