Class Cert. Sought In Coventry HMO Fee Suit

Law360, New York (December 1, 2009, 12:48 PM EST) -- A plaintiff is seeking class certification in her suit claiming that Coventry Healthcare of Kansas is illegally charging HMO plan participants co-insurance and co-payment on the same health care services.

Plaintiff Mary Casey on Monday asked the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri to certify a class of individuals enrolled in Coventry's HMO plans in which Coventry imposed co-payment and co-insurance charges for the same health care service.
