Ingenico Faces Suit Over Credit Card Payment Patent

Law360, New York (December 4, 2009, 5:33 PM EST) -- Swiss company SPA Syspatronic AG has sued Ingenico Inc., which manufactures and sells credit card payment modules and terminals, for allegedly infringing its patent for a data carrier-controlled terminal in a data exchange system.

Syspatronic brought the suit on Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas seeking injunctive relief and damages.

Ingenico sells its wares throughout the world. The company describes itself as the No. 1 player in the secure electronic payments industry.
