Execs Found Guilty In Concrete Price-Fixing Scheme

Law360, New York (November 20, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Two executives allegedly involved in an Indiana-based price-fixing scheme were convicted Thursday by a federal jury for conspiring with other companies to set prices for ready-mix concrete.

The jury found MA-RI-AL Corp., which does business in Indiana as Beaver Materials, and the two executives—Chris and Ricky Beaver—guilty on charges of conspiracy and lying to FBI investigators.

Sealing the case, executives from other companies testified that operations manager, Chris Beaver, and commercial sales manager, Ricky Beaver, attended meetings between ready-mix concrete companies to agree on prices, discounts...
