Northrop Grumman Shipbuilders Launch FLSA Suit

Law360, New York (December 10, 2009, 1:14 PM EST) -- Shipbuilding employees at Northrop Grumman Corp. have filed a putative collective action alleging that the defense contractor doesn't properly compensate them for duties performed before and after their shifts.

In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana, Lonzo J. Clay, Jean J. Guerrier, Randy James and Kasandra Paul claim the company has failed to compensate them for donning and doffing protective gear, in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
