CA Off Hook In $60M Software License Dispute

Law360, New York (December 10, 2009, 7:15 PM EST) -- CA Inc. has been let off the hook for $60 million in damages sought by its former subsidiary Ingres Corp. in a dispute over licensing payments for legacy users of CA software Ingres took with it in the spinoff.

CA is not required to pay Ingres about $29 million for the licenses to the latest version of its OpenROAD software,Vice Chancellor Leo Strine Jr. ruled Monday in the Delaware Chancery Court.
