NJ Justices Take On Catholic School Teacher's Bias Suit

By Jeannie O'Sullivan (May 24, 2021, 5:15 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court will examine a lower court's revival of a gender bias lawsuit by a teacher at a Roman Catholic school who claimed she was fired for being pregnant and unmarried, according to an order list released Monday.

The justices are tasked with determining whether an intermediate appeals court properly reversed summary judgment in favor of the St. Theresa School in the suit brought by terminated teacher Victoria Crisitello. The school contends that the lower court's decision runs counter to recent U.S. Supreme Court precedent.
