9th Circ. Nixes Price-Fixing Action Against Shell, Others

Law360, New York (December 14, 2009, 2:37 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed the dismissal of a putative class action filed by gas station owners in California accusing Shell Oil Co., Chevron Corp. and Saudi Refining Inc. of engaging in a scheme to fix fuel prices for 23,000 U.S. franchise owners.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled Friday that the suit was time-barred, affirming a decision by the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
