Law360, New York (December 17, 2009, 12:20 PM EST) -- On Sept. 22, 2009, the U.S. Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission (collectively, the “agencies”) announced they would solicit public comments and hold joint public workshops to explore the possibility of updating the Horizontal Merger Guidelines used by the agencies to evaluate the potential competitive effects of mergers and acquisitions.
