FedEx Employee Wins $950K In Discrimination Case

Law360, New York (November 22, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- Finding that Federal Express Corp. racially discriminated and retaliated against one of its African-American employees, a San Francisco jury on Monday awarded plaintiff Pernell Evans $950,000.

In a lawsuit filed in 1999, Evans alleged he was a victim of race discrimination and subsequent retaliation.

He said that after filing discrimination complaints both internally at FedEx and with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, he received discipline in the form of corrective actions.
