IBM To Pay $65M To Settle Overtime Suit

Law360 (November 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- IBM has agreed to pay $65 million to settle allegations claims it illegally denied overtime pay to 32,000 workers who install and maintain computers, the computer maker said.

Brought in January of this year in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California by employees nationwide, the lawsuit claimed workers were illegally classified as exempt from overtime pay.

This case focused on IBM employees within IBM's Technical Services Professional and Information Technology Specialist job categories.
