US Airlines Seek To Ground EU Emissions Scheme

Law360, New York (December 18, 2009, 6:59 PM EST) -- Three major U.S. airlines and the lead trade group for U.S. air carriers have reportedly set out to ground a European Union environmental regulation that would place limits on allowable jetliner emissions.

AMR Corp. unit American Airlines Inc., UAL Corp. unit United Air Lines Inc., Continental Airlines Inc. and the Air Transport Association sued Ed Miliband, the United Kingdom's secretary of state for energy and climate change, in a London court Wednesday, Reuters reported.
