Heartland Turns Page With Prepack Ch. 11

Law360, New York (December 21, 2009, 12:34 PM EST) -- Continuing the trend of media company bankruptcies, Heartland Publications LLC announced Monday that it had filed for Chapter 11 protection after advertising revenues took a nosedive in the wake of the financial crisis.

The Clinton, Conn.-based company, which operates 50 paid-circulation newspapers in nine states, kicked off its bankruptcy with a slew of first-day motions in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
