Plaintiffs Call Out Objectors To $85M Wal-Mart Deal

Law360, New York (December 21, 2009, 7:45 PM EST) -- A battle is brewing over Wal-Mart Stores Inc.'s $85 million settlement of class actions alleging wage-and-hour violations, with the attorneys representing the class saying that post-confirmation objections to the settlement on the part of six objectors are an attempt to misuse “the judicial process for personal gain.”

In a motion filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada, counsel for the plaintiffs in the case said that objections to the $85 million settlement were being filed by a “pack of professional objectors”...
