Insurance Agent Brings Brokers Into Lloyd's Unit's Suit

Law360, New York (December 23, 2009, 4:59 PM EST) -- Insurance agent Walnut Advisory Corp. has dragged two insurance brokers into a $6.5 million dispute with a Lloyd's of London underwriting syndicate over insurance policies issued to a nightclub, claiming the two brokers failed to properly assess the contract before it went into effect.

Walnut lodged a third-party complaint Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, accusing insurance brokers Carman Corp. and Miller Insurance Services Ltd. of professional malpractice and negligent misrepresentation, among other wrongdoing.
