Judge Denies EchoStar's Bid For New Trial

Law360 (November 28, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has shot down Echostar Communications Corp.’s request for a new trial in its patent infringement battle against TiVo Inc.

Judge David Folsom of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas said in an order Monday that the Echostar issues are not new, and had been decided at least once, “if not several times,” during the litigation.
