Watson Wyatt Completes Tie-Up With Towers Perrin

Law360, New York (January 4, 2010, 12:55 PM EST) -- Consulting giants Watson Wyatt Worldwide Inc. and Towers Perrin Forster & Crosby Inc. have formally finalized their $3.5 billion merger, following approval from the firms' shareholders last month.

The transaction went into effect Sunday. Stock of the combined firm, now called Towers Watson, is listed on both the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ. As a result of the merger, Towers Watson expects to issue some 46.9 million shares of Class A common stock, and some 29.5 million shares of Class B Common Stock.
