Pilgrim's Pride To Pay $4.5M For Immigration Offense

Law360, New York (January 4, 2010, 5:10 PM EST) -- Chicken processing giant Pilgrim’s Pride Corp. has agreed to pay the federal government $4.5 million to end an investigation into allegations that it hired and employed illegal aliens in plants throughout Texas.

As a result of the settlement, announced Dec. 30, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and the U.S. Attorney’s Office agreed to wind down their immigration-related investigation into the company and current and former employees.
