Taiwanese Parliament Reinstates US Beef Ban

Law360, New York (January 5, 2010, 6:24 PM EST) -- Taiwan's parliament on Tuesday reportedly banned the importation of some U.S. beef and offal products over continuing concerns about mad cow disease, reversing a trade deal the two countries reached in October.

The resumption of the ban came on the heels of a string of public protests after Taiwan's Department of Health in early November formally posted a notice of the amended regulations allowing U.S. bone-in beef and some additional beef products to be imported, as long as they were from cattle 30 months of age...
