Fla. Ex-Lawyer To Admit Running $1.2B Ponzi Scheme

Law360, New York (January 6, 2010, 4:19 PM EST) -- Disbarred attorney Scott W. Rothstein plans to plead guilty in connection with federal charges that he ran a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme out of his South Florida firm Rothstein Rosenfeldt & Adler PA, his lawyer said Wednesday.

The disgraced lawyer's attorney, Marc Nurik, confirmed to Law360 that he told Judge James I. Cohn of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Wednesday that his client is finalizing a plea agreement.
