Solvay Abandons Fight Over Resin Anti-Dumping Duties

Law360, New York (January 6, 2010, 5:44 PM EST) -- Polymer manufacturer Solvay Solexis Inc. has dropped its challenge to the U.S. Department of Commerce's calculation of anti-dumping duties to be levied on certain resins from Italy.

Solvay filed a stipulation of dismissal with the U.S. Court of International Trade on Tuesday, withdrawing its objection to the inclusion of an accrual expense related to an antitrust fine with the company’s general expenses.

Commerce included the expense in coming up with an anti-dumping duty determination for granular polytetrafluoroethylene resin from Italy, which triggered protests from Solvay....
