Champion Loses Bid To Reopen Metex CERCLA Suit

Law360, New York (January 6, 2010, 12:51 PM EST) -- A federal judge has denied Champion Laboratories Inc.'s motion for reconsideration in a lawsuit over a New Jersey Superfund site, finding that the company failed to demonstrate that the court overlooked crucial evidence during a bench trial.

In a ruling handed down Monday, Judge William H. Walls of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey rejected Champion's request and reaffirmed his earlier finding in favor of Metex Corp., the defendant in the protracted environmental cleanup suit.
