Law360, New York (January 7, 2010, 2:30 PM EST) -- The federal judge in a Fair Labor Standards Act suit against U.S. Steel Corp. has asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit to weigh in on a dispute about whether employees can be compensated for the time spent walking from the locker room to their work station.

Judge Robert L. Miller Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana on Tuesday granted U.S. Steel's request to certify an interlocutory appeal on the question.
