DOC Says Indian Co. Still On Hook For CVP-23 Duties

Law360, New York (January 7, 2010, 5:13 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has found that India's Alpanil Industries remains subject to countervailing duties on its carbazole violet pigment 23 product, after concluding that the company benefited from government subsidies.

Commerce's International Trade Administration issued a notice Tuesday in the Federal Register saying that Alpanil — now known as Meghmani Pigments — received subsidies through loan programs and income tax deductions from the government of India.
