Del. Judge Tosses 2 Seroquel Suits

Law360, New York (January 7, 2010, 6:52 PM EST) -- Excluding key medical causation testimony by the plaintiffs’ experts, a Delaware state judge has thrown out two cases alleging AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP's antipsychotic drug Seroquel caused plaintiffs to develop diabetes.

In brief letter orders, Judge Joseph R. Slights III of the Superior Court for the State of Delaware on Thursday granted the drugmaker’s bids for summary judgment in the cases after determining that plaintiffs Caroline Jones and Regina Hopkins lacked competent expert testimony regarding specific causation.
