Union Says Saks Retaliated Against Workers Who Joined

Law360, New York (January 7, 2010, 5:54 PM EST) -- Luxury retailer Saks Fifth Avenue has been slapped with unfair labor claims by a retail union alleging that its New York City store fired more than 100 employees in retaliation for their decision to join the labor union.

Local 1102 of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union said Tuesday it had initiated a case with the National Labor Relations Board over the retailer’s Dec. 14 firing of 115 workers in the cosmetics department of its flagship Fifth Avenue store.
