US Haiti Envoy Resigns Citing 'Inhumane' Border Expulsions
By Mike LaSusa (September 23, 2021, 10:36 AM EDT) -- The U.S. special envoy to Haiti has resigned after just a few months on the job, citing the Biden administration's "inhumane" and "counterproductive" deportation of Haitians to the crisis-wracked island nation.

In a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Daniel Foote criticized President Joe Biden's administration for continuing deportations of Haitians despite the Caribbean nation having recently suffered a powerful earthquake and the assassination of its president.
