Family Dollar Dealt Setback In Equal Pay Suit

Law360, New York (January 11, 2010, 4:17 PM EST) -- A federal judge has denied Family Dollar Stores Inc.'s motion for judgment on the pleadings on certain class certification issues in a putative equal pay class action filed on behalf of the retail chain's female managers.

Judge Robert J. Conrad of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of North Carolina denied the motion Thursday, adopting a magistrate judge's opinion and overruling objections raised by the discount retailer.
