Georgia-Pacific To Snap Up Grant Facilities For $400M

Law360, New York (January 11, 2010, 3:07 PM EST) -- Paper products manufacturer Georgia-Pacific Corp. announced Monday that it will buy several wood products facilities in the U.S. and Canada from bankrupt Grant Forest Products Inc. for about $400 million.

Grant intends to seek approval for the deal from Canadian and U.S. courts "in the near future," according to the announcement. The companies expect the deal to close in the first half of 2010 after court and regulatory approvals are complete.
