Synthes, Howmedica End Bone Device Patent Suits

Law360, New York (January 11, 2010, 7:03 PM EST) -- Synthes Inc.’s North American subsidiary and Stryker Corp.’s unit have resolved two infringement cases against each other over their patents covering orthopedic devices.

Judge Anita B. Brody of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Monday issued a final consent judgment in Synthes’ patent suit, which was filed in 2006, dismissing all claims with prejudice after Synthes USA and Howmedica Osteonics Corp. entered into a confidential settlement deal on Dec. 29.
