Advisers Seek Class Cert. In OT Suit V. Ex-AIG Unit

Law360, New York (January 12, 2010, 6:56 PM EST) -- Financial advisers for AIG Retirement Advisors Inc. have asked a federal court to certify a class action accusing their employer of misclassifying them as independent sales representatives to avoid paying them overtime.

In a motion filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Vetra Perry-Roman, the named plaintiff in the case, says that a class should be certified because all of the financial advisers had essentially the same duties.
