DOJ Extends Deadline For Mittal Arcelor To Sell Mills

Law360, New York (November 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday granted steel giants Mittal Steel Co. NV and Arcelor SA 60 more days to quell antitrust concerns regarding their merger.

Mittal and Arcelor are legally bound to divest one of their North American tin mills in order to satisfy antitrust condition imposed on the deal, but the companies have hit a snag in trying to sell Canadian mill Dofasco Inc.
