US Fire Doesn't Owe MasTec Coverage: 11th Circ.

Law360, New York (January 13, 2010, 12:33 PM EST) -- A federal appeals court has affirmed a lower court's judgment for U.S. Fire Insurance Co. in a suit brought by MasTec Inc. claiming the insurer wrongly denied coverage for damages levied against the utility and communications contractor after it punctured a gas pipeline.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit on Tuesday turned aside Coral Gables, Fla.-based MasTec's argument that language in the excess policy was ambiguous and should be read in its favor.
