Protein Sciences Dropped From Vaccine Patent Spat

Law360, New York (January 15, 2010, 7:08 PM EST) -- A licensing dispute over Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica Inc.'s rights to a pig vaccine patent will continue against Merial Ltd. now that a federal judge has dismissed the previous patent holder, Protein Sciences Corp., from the case.

Judge Alvin W. Thompson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut granted PSC's motion to dismiss Thursday after finding that the company's assignment of the patent-in-suit to Merial was valid.
