WIPO Shuts Down Fake Travel-Related Websites

Law360, New York (October 22, 2003, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The World Intellectual Property Organization has shut down a string of travel-related websites that used names confusingly similar with airlines and travel operators to lure customers, Reuters reported.

In a report on a ruling to shut down airfranceairlines.com, WIPO listed nine other sites:

- holidayinnhotels.org

- hilton-hotel-reservation.com

- marriot-hotels.com

- us-airways.net

- lufthansa-airlines.net

- british-air-ways.com

- twaairlines.org

- qantas-airlines.com

- al-italia.com
